Choosing A Good Nursing Pad

There are so many different types of nursing pads. As expectant mothers, we are lost amidst the number of choices and types.

Nursing pads are designed to absorb the milk that leaks between our feedings. It saves us from many embarrassing leak moments and keeps our breasts nice and dry until the next feeding. They come in different sizes and shapes, and we can even choose them accordion to our style.

Do you need something on the go and something that is so easy and convenient for your busy everyday life? Or do you want a nursing pad that is environmentally friendly and can be reused for a long period of time? Different nursing pads have different needs and they are contoured for different body shapes. So it is important to choose a nursing pad that suits our breasts and does the best at absorption. They should be able to keep our breasts and nipples comfortable throughout the day. They must keep us warm, dry, and leakproof! 

Your breasts will take some time to get regulated with breastfeeding and timings. For the first few months, it is a messy rollercoaster of milk squirts and wet clothes at random times. Sometimes when feeding, both of your breasts may be leaking and you may need disposable breast pads to prevent a mess all over your clothes. 

Bear in mind, the first few months will be a learning curve for you and your breasts as well as your baby. Nursing pads are another part of the learning curve. Finding the best one for your breasts takes time and patience. And it helps us that we have choices for spoils. 

Disposable nursing pads or reusable pads?

Both are perfectly fine and wonderful for our breasts but speaking from an environmental point of view, it is always better to go for reusable pads. Reusable nursing pads are made from cotton and they come in many different styles, shapes, and sizes. It might take a little experimentation to figure out which reusable nursing pads work the best for your body. Our breasts sizes vary greatly and oftentimes no two breasts are the same so we might even need two different sizes. 

Reusable nursing pads are a wonderful addition but they can be a lot more costly compared to a disposable nursing pad. 

With disposable nursing pads, you don’t have to worry about washing them, drying them, or running out of them. As new moms, we have a hard time keeping up with the laundry so it is always wise to get something that is convenient and easy to use on an everyday basis. Disposable nursing pads are made from similar materials to diapers. They are very good at doing their job of being leakproof however they can cause a little discomfort. It is always good to invest in reputable and well-qualified disposable breast pads! A good disposable nursing pad can make all the difference in our life.
