Kevin Strootman

Kevin Strootman born in Ridderkerk, Netherlands on 13th February 1990 is a left footed central defensive midfielder (CDM) who started his football career at VV Rijsoord and later enjoyed his youth education at the Rotterdam club Sparta. He made his debut in the A-team on February 15, 2008 in the match against Ajax. After the winter break 2010-11 he moved to FC Utrecht. Because of his development at FC Utrecht, Strootman became the focus of PSV. On June 28, 2011 it was announced that he and teammate Dries Mertens made the switch to the Eindhoven club. He plays with number 8 and has a contract until 2016. Kevin Strootman made his debut on 9 February 2011 in the Dutch national football team. In a friendly international match at home to Austria, then national coach Bert Van Marwijk brought him in as a replacement for Theo Janssen in the 72nd minute. During a qualifier for the 2012 European Championship in and against Finland, he scored his first goal for the Orange.
